#TogetherForBedfordshire | Well the weather’s been more April showers than mid-May, but we are out come rain, wind and even hail ! Time spent on foot allows us to stay visible, approachable, and connected, while also reaching areas vehicles cannot access. We value these opportunities to speak with residents, understand local concerns, and build positive relationships. Keeping our roads safe is a key job for our community teams and that’s why Luton officers from our Luton Community Policing team have been at Bradgers Hill and around the Sixth Form College after concerns about anti-social driving. Several vehicles stopped, advice provided, but the good news was that all drivers were within the speed limit. Checks will continue: as we always say, we can’t be everywhere, but we could be anywhere. To that end our community cohesion team makes it its business to keep close ties with all our communities: it’s not ALL hard work as one of our officers found as he enjoyed a recent visit to a celebration of Kenyan culture in Luton. We know how much you love our dogs, but how about a dog and a unicorn together ! There’s a serious point though: PD Gracie and her fellow dogs and their handlers from the Luton Airport Police Unit will often be seen checking unattended or unclaimed bags, items and unicorns. When travelling through please make sure you keep all your luggage and items with you at all times. Don’t forget you can report issues directly to us using our webchat facility here www.beds.police.uk or call 101. You can also report anonymously at Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Information we receive from the community really helps the way we deploy resources and tackle crime.
